In mid-June, LCRPC staff partnered with Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust, the Maine Forest Service, and the Maine Bureau of Resource Information & Land Use Planning to host a workshop at Roundtop Farm in Damariscotta on vegetation management.
The workshop focused on creating healthy landscapes, reducing fire risk, and protecting property for residents and municipalities. Following a wonderful presentation from our speaker panel, attendees then headed outside to experience vegetative management practices in action. The walking tour included tips for property owners on ways to protect their property and enhance their land through various management strategies.

This workshop is part of LCRPC's series called Planning in the Wild where we are hosting workshops throughout Lincoln County to showcase how land use strategies have been put into action. Past workshops included an Earth Day Open House at the Lincoln County Recycling Center and a shoreline stabilization workshop at Pemaquid Beach.
Future workshops being planned for the remainder of 2026 include an energy efficiency discussion in August and an invasive species walk with Midcoast Conservancy in September. The full schedule of 2026 workshops is coming soon!
